In addition to an excellent academic program, their Magnet
program offers students, daily intensive theory and practice in the studio of
their choice. Students in this program are selected through an intensive
audition/application process. Students have a choice in band,
choir, orchestra, broadcast, dance, theatrical technical production, theatre
arts (theatre, musical theatre, theatre design, and production), vocal
performance, and entertainment law.
Because of this robust and broad
choice of courses, the brand new Jose Milton Performing Arts Center at Miami
Arts Studio was born. The main stage features a full-size stage with ETC
Series 2 Spots and ETC Desire D40 Wash fixtures. To round out their rig,
ColorSource Linear 4 fixtures were used on the cyclorama. All control for
the space was done with an ETC Gio@5 lighting console and Paradigm
Architectural Control.
A video broadcast studio located behind
the main stage features a rig of DeSisti Leonardo F10, ColorSource Linear 2,
Desire D40 Tungsten, and Source Four Series 2 Spot fixtures all controlled
through a ColorSource 40AV console. Power and data distribution is done
through ETC for both spaces.
