Lighting for Studios, Theaters, Architecture - Sure... But a Surgical Suite?

Barbizon Lighting’s New York office has been collaborating with New York-based neurosurgeon John Mangiardi who is the founder and originator of the 15 patents that are the source for the Optimus ISE™ (Interactive Surgical Environment) project.

Optimus has re-engineered the operating room from the ground up for the first time since World War II. The Optimus ISE™ is a radical redesign of the operating room. This includes the operating table, the walls, the floor, the ceiling, the lighting, the cleaning system, the inventory control, information technology, information management, cutting-edge sterilization capabilities.

Barbizon along with the other design affiliates recently saw their work come to fruition when the first Optimus ISE™was completed in Barcelona.

Barbizon is asked to work in some pretty interesting production spaces. Studios, Theaters, Museums, Architecture, but this is a new one, even for us.
It is truly a 'cutting-edge' design that will reshape how surgery will be done.

For more information about the project check out the Optimus ISE™ Webpage or contact our New York Systems Group.
