Position Title: Field Service Technician
Department: Systems Division
Reports To: Systems Manager
Overall Responsibility: Provide technical support and service to Barbizon's Systems Division, Customers, and Vendors
Location: Atlanta, GA
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Manage Paperwork flow for In-House Repairs
- Evaluate Equipment to determine if it should be repaired in-house or shipped to factory
- Bill for bench repairs in a timely fashion
- Craft service contracts and respond to emergency repair calls
- Execute service contracts
- Track/Coordinate repair paperwork and flow of materials between factory and customers
- Provide Systems Division and factory commissioning of systems, including low voltage terminations
- Provide on-site field service to existing customers
- Maintain organization of customer and job files
- Train new customers on operations and maintenance of new system
- Maintain equipment and parts inventory
- Keep updated and informed of new products and system operational software
- Repair automated fixtures, dimming equipment and control consoles
- Provide support and troubleshooting to customers, both on-site and remotely via phone or electronic messaging.
- Provide accounting information to Project Management/Accounting Department for all field service.
- Attend factory trainings with appropriate frequency to maintain Òstate of the artÓ technical support certifications
- Secure and return completed commissioning reports to factory
- Installation of lighting equipment on site to include: assembly of distribution and control racks
- Setup, connect and operate equipment for Demonstrations in house and in the field
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic computer skills
- High level of organizational ability
- Ability to work well without direct supervision, self-starter
- Ability to get along with others
- Willingness and availability for overnight travel
- Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently
- Ability to follow direction
- Knowledge of entertainment dimming & control systems
- Understanding of DMX and network control standards
- Basic Electrical Knowledge
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Good work habits and organizational skills
- Strong technical understanding of current lighting technology
- Ability to work well with contractors and subcontractors
- Proficient with soldering
- Troubleshooting
- Good understanding of their personal limitations
- Attention to detail
- Needs a valid drivers license and transportation
- Background and practical experience in technical aspects of entertainment and architectural systems
- Technical Theatre or Television degree or comparable work experience or equivalent Technical School or Military training
- Valid drivers license
